Fun Cat Facts

Cats are unique — you cannot discipline cats as you would dogs! Canines form hierarchies that you can take advantage of by placing yourself at the top. Cats form social groups only by necessity and are based on the arrangement of respecting territory not by respecting the "Top Dog"! Many mistakes made with cats are due to thinking that they will react like dogs — and this just isn't so!

Properly caring for your cat is a vital service that must be provided throughout their lives Although they seem independent — they require attention and love! Cats have a number of nutritional needs — Cats must eat meat in order to survive and need the essential Amino Acid Taurine in their diet — natural prey such as rodents and birds do provide a cat with certain levels of nutrition, but- they are not practical foods for most pet cats. As independent as cats are, they are very structure oriented and need to follow a daily routine — especially where meals are concerned.

The taming of cats dates back 5000 years to Ancient Egypt. Cats have come a long way since then yet the love and mystery surrounding them has never diminished. Stubbornly independent, it is important to give your cat the space it needs to be itself! — with new cats it is important to let them become accustomed to your home first, on their own, before meeting any members of your family. Respect the time it takes to get the cat familiar with you. By earning a cats trust you will create a closer bond!
